Completion Date: 2017
Instrumentation: Flute, Trumpet, Violin, and Cello
The piece has three main sections. The first section consists of the allegro octave ostinato in the cello and the whole-tone melody in the other instruments. A more melodic section follows. The next main section is somewhat of a developmental section. Syncopation supports a new melody, ensued by a broadening section which is in contrast to the articulated and energetic nature of the preceding section. The final section employs different harmonies, rhythmic placements, and orchestration than the opening section. The final section ends with a playful, Scherzando-like section.
